Our Story
Welcome to Box M Sustainable Meats. We are so glad you are here and welcome the opportunity to tell you a little more about ourselves. Box M ranch is a more than just a cattle ranch. It’s a family legacy.
As a 4th generation cattle rancher, Angus is proud to carry on his family’s ranching heritage. His great-grandfather, Peter Barboglio, was a 1st generation Italian immigrant who settled in Durango, Mexico and established their family cattle ranch, La Guitarra. Angus’s grandfather, Pete, grew the family cattle ranch to over 400,000 acres and established meat packing plants and butcher shops that sold directly to his customers. “Papa,” as he was affectionally known by his grandchildren, recognized the importance of transparency and vertical integration even 50 years ago. During his childhood, Angus spent every possible minute working with and learning alongside his grandfather. After Papa’s passing, Angus took over the operations in Mexico. He continues to operate the ranch to this day.
After several years of searching for the perfect ranch in the southwest, Angus and his father, David, acquired Box M Ranch in 2018. Since then, Angus and David have focused and succeeded in improving the quality of the lands and thus, the quality of the cattle produced on the ranch. Located in Allen, Oklahoma, Box M ranch encompasses over 4,000 acres near the Canadian River in Ponotoc County. The ranch boasts rolling hills of open pasture and is divided by both Little Sandy and Muddy Boggy creeks."
Box M Ranch is obsessed with quality, superior flavor, and nutritional excellence. With a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, animal welfare, and current food safety standards, we are proud to share Box M Sustainable Meats with your family.
